TOILET SEAT GUIDES · IDENTIFY THE MODEL

How to identify your toilet brand and model before buying a seat

Start with the toilet, not the old seat. Find the brand and range, check the useful clues and get help when the model is uncertain.

To find the right replacement, identify the toilet itself, not just the old seat. A seat may be worn, distorted or have been fitted to an earlier model. Toilets that look alike can have different outlines and fixings.

Where to look for a brand or code

Use a torch to check inside or behind the ceramic, around the cistern, base and rear of the bowl. Look for a maker’s name, stamped logo, product code or label. On a wall-hung toilet, inspect the visible underside too. Invoices, manuals, renovation records and the old seat’s packaging may name the range.

A logo identifies the brand, but not always the range. A code may refer to the collection, a particular version or only a component. Record it exactly and compare it with dedicated pages such as Ideal Standard Tesi and Ideal Standard Conca.

Clues to compare

Check the bowl outline from above, the front edge, rear deck, any sloping surfaces and the fixing-hole positions. Note bowl length, maximum width and the centre-to-centre distance between the holes. Check whether the hinges fit from above or below. These details help narrow down the options, but none proves the model by itself.

Why a photo or measurement is not enough

Perspective can hide differences in photos, while overall measurements do not describe curves, contact points or hinge design. Do not buy a seat only because its dimensions are close or it “looks the same”. If you are not certain of the brand and model, use the Sintesibagno toilet-seat identification service. Send clear photos of the bowl and fittings, plus any codes. Identification helps establish the model before you choose a product.

After identifying the range

Open the brand and model page, then confirm the replacement listing names that exact version. Compare fixing type, material, colour and features. For example, browse replacements for Ideal Standard Tesi and Ideal Standard Conca; order only once the toilet match is confirmed.

Quick checklist

  • take clear top and side photos of the whole toilet;
  • look for a brand, code or paperwork;
  • measure length, maximum width and hole spacing;
  • photograph the hinges and mounting method;
  • request identification if the model is uncertain.
