SANITOSCO toilet seats: replacements for accessible WCs and WC-bidets
SANITOSCO, short for Sanitari Toscani, has a history linked to sanitaryware for people with reduced mobility and designs combining a WC and bidet. Founded in 1984 by architect Giovanni Fulgenzi, the company developed families with different features: elongated pans, front openings, raised rear platforms and integrated washing functions. Replacing the seat therefore requires the exact range and WC version to be identified. A shared accessibility purpose does not make the seats interchangeable.
Evolution, Kela and Free: three ranges with different seats
Evolution, also called Evolux in some product details, has a substantial, elongated body with rounded lines. The range includes front-opening and closed versions, the latter also described with an internal water outlet for the bidet function. Replacement seats are listed separately as Evolution open and closed.
Kela combines a raised WC configuration with a more contemporary outline. Open-front and closed-ring replacement seats are available here too: knowing the Kela name alone does not complete the selection.
Free has a distinctive rear step and bowl shape. This seating surface calls for particular attention to the seat profile and mounting details. The selection includes Free open with lid and Free closed with lid.
Open ring, closed ring and lid: what to check
For these replacements, open and closed distinguish whether the seat ring has a front gap. They do not simply describe whether the lid is raised or lowered. An open-front seat can have a lid, as with Free. Check the ring shape, inclusion of a lid and compatibility with the WC version separately on the product page.
Other SANITOSCO ranges and the De Lux WC-bidet
The catalogue has specific sections for Sanitangela, Cauro, Iside, Open and Pratic, as well as Sanit, Sanithand and Up. These names identify different families. A front opening shared by several models does not establish that they take the same seat.
The De Lux WC-bidet is another distinctive product. Its bidet function is integrated into the ceramic pan, with a water outlet within the rim. The replacement is the seat intended for that WC, rather than a generic add-on bidet accessory. The selection includes dedicated Duroplast seats, including a Soft Close option, and a seat classified as “like the original” in polyester-coated wood.
Replacement materials and hinges
Polyester-coated wood appears in several replacements, including Evolution, Kela, Free, Cauro, Open and Sanithand. Dedicated Duroplast seats with stainless-steel hinges are offered for Iside and Pratic open. Up has an economical compatible seat in urea-formaldehyde material.
Read the details of the chosen item: material, hinge type, soft-close operation and seat configuration are not the same across the brand. The De Lux classification “like the original” must also be distinguished from an original part branded by the sanitaryware manufacturer.
Finding the correct SANITOSCO seat
If you know the range and version with certainty, open its tile to compare replacements and reach the purchasing page on Sintesibagno.shop. If the model is uncertain, use the Sintesibagno toilet-seat identification service before ordering. Pan height, a front opening or a few measurements alone cannot confirm the correct replacement.
Frequently asked questions
Are all SANITOSCO open-front seats the same? No. Evolution, Kela, Free and the other ranges have specific profiles and replacements.
Does an open seat always have no lid? No. “Open” can refer to the ring; check the individual product details for the lid.
Does every replacement have Soft Close? No. Soft close is a feature of particular items, such as one dedicated De Lux option, and must be checked before ordering.
