TOILET SEAT GUIDES

Contoured and angled toilet seat bumpers

See how a seat rests on stepped or sloping ceramic, with eight model examples and links to replacements.

Bumpers are the small supports under the seat ring. They touch the ceramic when the seat is lowered. A bowl rim may have a sharp change in height, like a step, or a surface that slopes or curves. The shape and position of the bumpers follow the points where the seat rests. Uneven contact can let the seat rock or shift sideways.

Contoured bumpers for stepped bowls

A stepped rim has seating surfaces at different levels. Contoured bumpers are shaped and positioned to support the seat at the intended points along that rim.

Cesame Sintesi

A distinct step runs along the rim. It is easy to see from the side, where the bumper contact points are visible.

Dolomite Clodia

The D shape stands out from above. From the side, a step on the ceramic shows where the seat rests.

Globo Flavia

The step extends along the back. The seat follows both that surface and the broad curves of the outer edge.

EOS Astro

The bowl has a step similar to Clodia and a wider basin. The Astro model page lists seats for this range’s proportions.

Hatria Selecta

The almost rectangular top has a stepped groove. The contact points follow that feature of the rim.

Angled bumpers for sloping rims

On a smooth rim that slopes or curves, the contact face can be angled to follow the surface and limit sideways movement. A curved rim can also call for a specially shaped support.

Ideal Standard Conca

The surface supporting the seat slopes slightly. The original seats used angled bumpers to follow that surface.

Flaminia Relax

The top of the bowl is rounded, with a narrow contact area. The bumpers follow the curve of the ceramic.

Hatria Marylin

The upper rim slopes. The dedicated replacements for the range include seats with angled bumpers.

Choosing a complete seat or a bumper kit

Width, length and fixing-hole spacing help document the bowl. Two bowls with similar dimensions can have different support surfaces. A side view also reveals steps and slopes that an overhead photo can hide. If the brand or version is uncertain, send an overhead photo, a side photo and the requested measurements to the identification service before ordering.

Once the brand, range and version are confirmed, open the matching model page. All complete seats listed for that version fit the stated bowl. Compare materials, colours and features. Colour-calibrated product videos help you compare finishes. Screen settings can affect how they appear.

If the seat is intact and only a bumper has worn out or come off, look for a kit for the seat you already have. Check the seat code if available and compare the bumper profile, height and attachment with the kit listing. The kit needs to match the specific seat being repaired.
